Public Service Announcement 2:

trini and ruiming do NOT look cute together at all! partly because trini was included in the pair. ruiming does look cute, but trini equalizes that. i repeat, trini and ruiming do NOT look cute together!

weiming at 7:42 PM

The following is a Public Service Announcement sponsored by myself.

there is NOTHING at all with trini and ruiming. absolutely NOTHING at all. i dont know what possessed me to even insinuate that there was something. perhaps it was because they looked cute together. or maybe because.... nevermind. nonetheless, i feel that it is my responsibility to apologise for any grievance caused to trini or ruiming or their immediate family. once again, i repeat, i am a LIAR. there is NOTHING between trini and ruiming.

sup yall. haven't been updating regularly in recent times. you know, the usual bunch of lame ass excuses. "oh my life's boring". "nothing much is happening anyway". "i cant think of anything to write". but it's all true, really!

anyway plans are underfoot for a trip to europe! woohoo. cannot wait. but anyway nothing's firm so i'll try not to get too excited, lest another phuket-trip-in-july04 happens again (for the uninformed, that was cancelled).

so here's where massive savings begin.

you didn't believe me there, right? ok unbelievable as it sounds, lim weiming now has a budget. so no, you're not getting any treats from me. however, i will not forget that janekohmeowjun still owes me lunch.

and in latest news, my computer at home just died (i'm in camp by the way). bother.

i'm bored stiff.

and incoherent.

i dream of europe.

and Ohhhhhhhhhhhh-ARrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr-Deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

have you heard? trini and ruiming...

weiming at 5:57 PM

and so it's another boring (EDIT: turns out it wasnt so boring after all) day at work, but hey! today's my 20year8month 'birthday'. whatever. also, 1year10month since enlisting. and more importantly, it's 4months less one day from ORD. i can smelllllllll it cookin' already. if you thought you'd known delirium before this, be prepared for me, the day before my next birthday :)

the past week was great. fab. why? no work, all leave. phuture on wednesday was pretty good (save for the upset stomach), saturday at o bar was great, and sunday was just plain tiring. imagine going out drinking, then sleeping for 3 hours, before playing soccer for another 3 hours. as if playing soccer while semi-intoxicated wasnt enough, when i made it home, after a 15 minute nap i was dragged off to the gym and for dinner with my family (happy birthday mum!). upon reaching home, was dragged out to supper again (happy birthday yl!) and finally made it home to sleep at midnight. dont ask me how i do it, i just do it. the worst part of the week? the ending. and of course friday wasnt so fab either (you owe me :P).

and now i really wonder, what's gonna happen to me after i'm done with studies? it seems like my entire life so far's been mapped out already, and what follows each stage is all intuitive. primary school, sec school, jc, army, uni. so what happens then? get thrown into the wilderness to rot. it's a little overwhelming really (and geez, i havent even started on uni yet), i've got the end in mind, of course, who doesnt (get rich, get a hot wife, buy a bentley. perhaps those german physiks speakers too). but i'm not really sure of what happens in the middle. maybe i'll just take whatever comes along. maybe, but hopefully not.
i wonder how those entrepreneur types do it. it really takes a bit of cash and a whole lotta balls to start something you arent even sure of. and the success stories keep going round, you hear of sim wong hoo and creative, of breadtalk, and whatnot. but hardly anyone mentions the failures. i really wonder how many people got burnt and lie chest-deep in shit as i speak now. and i wonder too, if one day if i'd an idea, whether i'd have the guts to follow up on it. i hope i do, because boring, corporate life? not for me.

but heck. enough of this crap, i'd rather just enjoy the momeny for now -grin-. can you hear it in the distance? it's there, and it's calling for me...
ORD lohhhhhh...

(oh and ping, have you seen bae yong jun recently?)
(also also, anyone for zoukout?)

temptation is...

Friday, November 19, 2004

just wondering, what does the typical bored person do at home? or rather, what do YOU do at home on lazy days when you dont feel like going out or going to the gym or whatever. the computer starts to get boring, the tv never shows anything worthwhile, and the books, the books just bore you. so what do you do? i dunno, you tell me.

and also, anyone have any idea how the heck my alcohol intolerance came about? ever since the last time i got drunk, i've felt like puking anywhere near alcohol. and it's been like that for a week already. so someone please cure me, or just shoot me.

and oh, trini, you think YOU got conned into going back to hall. yeah. thanks mojo/jiet. (ROUND TWO!! mojo proclaims)

and now i know why people always say rest, rest and more rest is the most important thing to heal injuries. for ages i've wondered why my right wrist keeps hurting, like when i'm doing weights or some other thing which stresses the wrist. then recently i remembered a time back in sec 2 when i sprained my wrist in training, but went on training as normal. the wrist took like 2 months to finally heal, after getting reinjured a coupla times. and now i think it's a permanent injury. remedies, anyone? and not to mention, my knee joints are kinda screwed over already. and i've got a slightly rheumatic elbow to boot. i'm a walking talking injury shop.

since getting my shures, getting an amp, upgrading my cables, getting better headphones/earphones have been on my mind. everyday. and regular visits audio enthusiast forum www.head-fi.org, the urge gets stronger everyday.
must stop myself from spending more money.
must get myself away from those forums.
but somehow i think i'll end up getting an amp. and more. it's really quite addictive, like some other members described, as tasting the forbidden fruit, and then you keep going back for more. because, you've never got the best, there's always something better. well at least until you buy the Stax Omega II headphones (MSRP US$4030) and the matching Stax 007t Amp (MSRP US$2700). i dont see that happening anytime soon, nor do i see myself buying the German Physiks Tiebreak speakers (MSRP US$250000). so i'll just make do with little upgrades that give me that bit of happiness everytime.
man. i've got too many things to upkeep. my computer, my bike, my sound system, my wardrobe! all screaming at me for an upgrade. thank goodness for no girlfriend, or i'd be even more broke.
my bike needs a new front derailleur... my computer needs an overhaul...
sigh.

just for those bored and interested in all the bush furore (kay, you too) here's 2 sites with 2 views -

59 Deceits in Fahrenheit 9/11
which, of course, is pro-bush and anti-michael moore. disputes many 'facts' in fahrenheit 9/11

and

Michael Moore's War Room
where michael moore posts factual evidence to support his claims in fahrenheit 9/11, and rebutts all the claims made in the afore-mentioned site.

and after all this reading, i still dont like bush

oh, if anyone is interested in a complete and not so legal copy of Fahrenheit 9/11, feel free to ask me for it. it's 'only' 700mb.
i'm more than happy to educate the world on the 'competence' of the POTUS (President Of The United States).

George W. Bush, this is YOUR life (and what you've done in your first few months in office):

- reduced spending on libraries
- reduced funding (by 50%!) into renewable energy sources
- reduced funding into cleaner, more efficient vehicles
- reduced governmental power in acting against companies that violate federal and environmental laws, and workplace safety standards
- approval for opening of national monuments for foresting, and oil and gas drilling
- broken promises in rain forest preservation
- reduced care for people without health insurance among public hospitals, clinics and other health care providers (by 86%!)
- pulled out of the 1997 Kyoto protocol agreement on global warming (which was signed by 178 other countries)
- rejected an international accord to enforce the 1972 treaty banning germ warfare
- cut $200million from workforce training program for dislocated workers
- cut $200million from childcare and development grant, which provides childcare to low income families
- cut $700million from public housing repairs
- cut $500million from the environmental protection agency's budget
- overturned workplace ergonomic rules designed to protect workers' health and safety
- broke campaign pledge to regulate carbon dioxide emissions
- announced plans to allow oil drilling in montana's lewis and clark national forest
- enforced a tax cut (43% of which only benefits the wealthiest 1% of america)
- pushed for a bill making it harder for poor and middle class americans to file for bankruptcy
- cut $15.7million from programs dealing with child abuse and neglect
- proposed elimination of program which gives free books to poor children
- tried to reverse regulation protecting 60million acres of national forest from logging and road building
- proposed development of mini-nukes, which violate comprehensive teest ban treaty
- canceled 2004 deadline for auto makers to develop prototype high-mileage cars
- sought dismissal of a class-action lawsuit filed in the states against japan by asian women forced to work as sex slaves in WW2.
- proposed selling of oil and gas tracts in the alaska wildlife preserve

and as if destroying the environment wasnt enough, you've proved your excellent intellect and command of language too.
- your favourite childhood book? "The Very Hungry Caterpillar". (published the year after you graduated from college)
- your grades at college? a 'C' average. and you had the cheek to tell a graduating class at Yale that "a C student could be President of the United States too".

and how about some quotable quotes?
"..they misunderestimated me..."
"..the question is, is our children learning?"
"..more and more of our imports are coming from overseas.."
"i'm not a tree, i'm a bush."

more importantly, what's all this monkey business with the arabs?
- according to reports, your very first oil venture was funded in part by the bin Ladens
- the bin Ladens, too, have been investors in your father's company, the Carlyle Group
- when september 11 happened, you allowed a private chartered jet to fly around the US to pick up nearly 2 dozen members and associates of the bin Laden family and take them out of the country without conducting any serious interrogations on them
- in 1997, the taliban leaders flew to texas to discuss the building of a pipeline across afghanistan. feasibility studies were conducted by Enron (your largest campaign contributors) and one of the involved companies was halliburton (chaired by Dick Cheney). it didn't happen, eventually, but
- when the taking over of afghanistan was complete, you installed a former oil company consultant as the 'interim leader'. within a few months, a new deal was signed to build that pipeline
- at least 15 of the 19 hijackers on 9-11 were saudis. yet you bombed afghanistan. maybe it's because
- saudis supply 25% of USA's gasoline and contains so many of your dad's business partners?
- maybe that's why the saudi embassy is one of the only embassies in the US to have the secret service watching over it.
- and what really were your intentions in bombing iraq? and now that you know there aren't any WOMD there, why are your troops still there?

america, you voted, and this is your leader. there're many more facts i've got around, i'm just too lazy to dig em up. (i dont think i've enough space either.) true, Kerry may not be the solution to all your problems, but at least i think he'd be an improvement.

at the time of writing, Bush leads Kerry 269-242 (projection by Foxnews.com). with new mexico, nevada and iowa looking firmly in Bush's favour, i guess this is your choice, america. and this time, he didn't even have to cheat(too much) to win.
but of course, Fox always projects in Bush's favour. (after all, the person in charge of its election coverage, John Ellis is his first cousin) so there's still hope.

(disclaimer: this are all the writer's own views, with facts supplemented by various film and writing by Michael Moore. please don't sue me)
